TextSafe for Google Drive — privacy policy
TextSafe exists to copy your Google Messages™ conversations into your own Google Drive™. It has no server, no analytics, and no third-party services.
What it reads
- The conversation list and message content rendered on
messages.google.com/webin your browser, only for the conversations you select. - Images, video, audio and other attachments shown in those conversations.
Where data goes
- Your Google Drive, into a folder you name (default Text Messages). Uploads use the
drive.fileOAuth scope, which limits the extension to files and folders it created itself; it cannot see the rest of your Drive. - Your browser profile (
chrome.storage.local): a local copy of each backed-up conversation, small inline previews of attachments, a log of recent runs, and your settings. This local copy makes scheduled runs incremental. You can delete it at any time from Settings → Local archive, per conversation or all at once. Uninstalling the extension removes it. - Nowhere else. No data is sent to the extension author or any other party.
Remote requests the extension makes
www.googleapis.com— Google Drive API (uploads, folder lookups, downloads of its ownconversation.jsonfiles for restore).accounts.google.com— Google sign-in, only when you connect or disconnect Drive.*.googleusercontent.com,*.gstatic.com,*.ggpht.com— fetching attachment bytes that Messages for web references by URL.
